“ COVID-19使种族主义蔓延,并造成了国家不安全感,对在美国的亚裔人的恐惧和普遍的仇外心理,这可能与大流行期间反亚洲仇恨犯罪的增加有关。”

At 3pm local time on March 13, 2021, nearly a thousand people gathered in Seattle’s Chinatown Plaza, and they strongly urge STOP HATRED to stop hatred! The rally is mainly aimed at the social security order that has been disrupted since 2020 due to the impact of the new crown virus, especially for the frequent discrimination and attacks on Asians.

Hatred is a crime that usually involves violence and is caused by prejudice based on race, religion, sexual orientation, or other reasons. The venue kept calling STOP HATRED to stop hatred! The former US ambassador to China, Gary Locke, delivered a speech at the conference, denounced this unfair hatred: King County Dow Constantine, the governor of King County, King County, Washington State, gave a passionate speech; there were also older ones who gave speeches. People and young people express their indignation at the intensification of hatred and violence against Asian Americans.

Under the constant threat of coronavirus, there are more and more xenophobic and racist incidents targeting members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities in the United States.

With the coronavirus, some people blamed the rise of anti-Asian American discrimination for the former president’s remarks when describing the pandemic.

“COVID-19 has spread racism and caused national insecurity, fear of Asians in the United States, and widespread xenophobia, which may be related to the increase in anti-Asian hate crimes during the pandemic.”
