WASHINGTON STATE CONGRESSMAN ADAM SMITH EXCHANGES WITH COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES

At 6:00 pm on August 15th, Washington State Congressman Adam Smith and local community representatives started a conversation on the safety of the community.

With regard to gun control and the recent hot topic “the situation in the Taiwan Strait”, everyone seems to be paying more attention to the issue of gun control in the United States.

Congressman Adam Smith made his point to delegates’ questions.

Edmond City Councilman Will Chen asked Smith: What do you think about urban gun control in Washington state?

Smith: Cities have limited capacity. It needs to be addressed at the state level or national governments, limited to what they can do with gun control, it has to be done at the state level.

A woman during the exchange asked: Can you tell me what you think about gun control?

Smith: On the issue of gun control, which is a day-to-day issue in the Seattle area, there needs to be a line, and in order to control that line, we need to work with the criminal justice department and have sensible direction in terms of access to guns. I am a firm believer that you need to be involved in supporting organizations. I understand that people have the right to use guns, but not military weapons. Also, background checks on gun buyers.

Someone asked about Taiwan, Smith said there are more pursuits in their democracy, anti-China anti-Taiwan, that’s ambiguous, any American you can go to Taiwan, it’s all about peace, but people may worry about a kind of justice.

thank you all.thank you all.
